Informed tracks every bill, vote, amendment, hearing, and committee action in the U.S. Congress, using data directly from Congress.gov. You can browse the feed, bills, members, and votes without an account.

Creating a free account — with Sign in with Apple or an email and password — lets you follow bills and members, save documents, ask the AI assistant about a document, and get notified when something you follow has new activity.

Tap Follow on any bill or member to add it to what you track. When a followed item has new activity, Informed can send you a push notification.

Turning on notifications: allow notifications when the app first asks. If you dismissed that prompt, open the iOS Settings app and enable them under Notifications → Informed, then reopen Informed and check your notification preferences.

Not receiving notifications? Confirm notifications are allowed for Informed in iOS Settings, that the items you expect alerts for are still followed, and that your device has a network connection. See Troubleshooting if the problem continues.

The AI assistant answers questions about a specific document based strictly on that document's text, and cites the passage it drew from. It declines questions outside the scope of the document being discussed.

How much you can use the assistant depends on your plan. As a guide, the free plan includes up to about 30 assistant messages a day (a trial allowance), Plus up to about 200, Pro up to about 500, and Max up to about 2,000. The most capable models, including Claude, are available on the Max plan. On any plan you can add your own AI provider key in the app to use your own quota.

Informed offers optional paid plans — Plus, Pro, and Max — that raise your AI assistant allowance and remove ads. The free plan keeps full access to legislative data.

Subscriptions bought in the iOS app are billed and managed through your Apple account. To change or cancel a plan, open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, choose Subscriptions, select Informed, and pick a new plan or cancel. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep your plan until the current period ends.

Restoring purchases: if you reinstall the app or switch devices, use Restore Purchaseson the app's subscription screen to reconnect an active plan.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Signing in: use Sign in with Apple or your email and password. If you signed up with an email and password and need to change it, you can request a password reset by email.

Deleting your account:you can permanently delete your account and its data from the app's account settings. For full details — including exactly what is removed and the limited billing records we must retain — see our data deletion page.

We store only what's needed to run your account — your email, an optional display name, and the items you follow, save, or view — and we don't sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

The app won't load or sign in. Check your internet connection, make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store, then fully close and reopen the app. If sign-in still fails, wait a minute and try again.

“Couldn't verify this device with Apple.” This is a one-time device security check. Make sure you have a network connection and try again; if it keeps happening, contact us and include your device model and iOS version.

A verification email didn't arrive. Check your spam folder and confirm the address you used, then request the email again.
