About Informed

Informed is a free, public-interest service that tracks every bill, vote, amendment, hearing, and committee action in the U.S. Congress. It exists because following what Congress actually does — as opposed to what the news says about Congress — is unreasonably hard.

Who runs it

Informed is a product of Skybridge Labs, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company. We're a small independent team; we don't take money from political parties, campaigns, PACs, lobbying firms, or advocacy groups. The service is supported by a free tier with optional paid plans (for heavier AI usage) and, on some pages, Google advertising.

Where the data comes from

All legislative data comes directly from official government sources:

We do not modify the underlying text of bills, amendments, or votes. When we present summaries or AI-generated explanations, we cite the source passage so you can read the original.

What we cover

Informed indexes over 20 document types from the 117th Congress onward, including bills, laws, amendments, summaries, member profiles, committee reports and prints, committee meetings, hearings, the Congressional Record (daily and bound), nominations, treaties, CRS reports, House and Senate communications and requirements, and House and Senate roll-call votes.

Our editorial stance

We don't add political commentary, ratings, scorecards, or ideological labels. The feed shows legislative actions as they occur. When we describe what a bill does, we use neutral, source-grounded language.

The AI assistant answers questions about specific documents based strictly on the document text, and cites the passage it drew from. It will decline to answer questions outside the scope of the document being discussed.
