Terms of Service

Last updated: April 23, 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Informed (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. Informed is operated by Skybridge Labs, LLC. (“we”, “us”). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. What Informed provides

Informed offers a searchable interface to U.S. Congressional legislative data — bills, votes, amendments, hearings, committee records, and related documents — along with optional features for following legislation, receiving email notifications, and asking questions of an AI assistant. The underlying data is provided by the U.S. government and is in the public domain. Our presentation, software, aggregations, and AI-generated outputs are ours.

3. Accounts

You may browse most of the Service without an account. To follow bills or members, save documents, use the AI assistant, or subscribe to a plan, you must create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide an accurate email address and be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Paid plans

Some features (for example, expanded AI assistant usage) are available through paid subscription plans. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Subscription page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact [email protected] for billing questions. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store payment card details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service in a manner that circumvents rate limits or burdens our infrastructure. If you need bulk data access, contact us.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data.
  • Use the Service to transmit unlawful, abusive, or infringing content.
  • Reverse-engineer or interfere with the operation of the Service.
  • Misrepresent the Service's AI-generated outputs as authoritative legal, financial, or political advice.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Data accuracy

We source data directly from official U.S. government systems and do not modify the underlying content. However, we make no guarantee that the data displayed on Informed is complete, current, or free of error. Always consult the primary source (Congress.gov, GovInfo, the Clerk of the House, or Senate.gov) before relying on legislative information for legal, business, or journalistic purposes.

7. AI-generated content

The AI assistant generates responses based on document text. These responses may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect. They are not legal, financial, medical, or political advice. You are responsible for verifying any AI output before relying on it.

8. Your content

If you submit feedback or otherwise provide content to us, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content to operate and improve the Service.

9. Intellectual property

The Service's software, branding, design, and original content are owned by Skybridge Labs, LLC. or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute the Service's interface or branding without permission. Underlying U.S. government data is in the public domain and not subject to this restriction.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKYBRIDGE LABS, LLC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Preferences page. We may suspend or terminate access at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
