Data Deletion

Last updated: June 21, 2026

What this covers

When you create an Informed account — including by signing in with Google, Facebook, or Apple — we store a small amount of data tied to that account: your email address, an optional display name, a provider identifier so we can recognize you on return, and the activity you generate while signed in (the bills and members you follow, documents you save or view, notification preferences, AI-assistant usage counts, and, if you subscribe, billing metadata). This page explains how to delete that data.

Delete your account and data

The fastest and most complete way to remove your data is to delete your account from within Informed:
  1. Sign in at getinformed.app.
  2. Go to Preferences (your account settings).
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, follows, saved items, view history, chat history, and any stored AI provider keys from our active systems, and immediately cancels any active paid subscription so you are not billed again. It also removes the link between your account and your Google, Facebook, or Apple identity.

If you signed in with Google, Facebook, or Apple

Deleting your Informed account (above) is what removes your data from Informed. Separately, you can disconnect Informed from the provider at any time — for example, in your Google account permissions, your Facebook app settings, or your Apple ID settings. Disconnecting at the provider stops future sign-ins but does not by itself delete the data Informed already holds — to remove that, use the in-app account deletion above.

If you can't sign in

If you no longer have access to your account and cannot complete the steps above, email us at [email protected] from the email address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify the request and process it on your behalf.

Timing and records we must keep

Once a deletion is requested, your data is removed from our active systems within 30 days. We retain a limited set of records longer only where required by law: Stripe billing records (transaction history and invoices) are kept for tax and accounting compliance, typically seven years. Those records do not contain your payment card details — Stripe holds those. See our Privacy Policy for more on what we collect and how long we keep it.
