FABRIC Act

Fashioning Accountability and Building Real Institutional Change Act or the FABRIC Act

This bill requires garment industry employers to pay at least the hourly minimum wage and prohibits piece rate pay. Garment manufacturers and contractors also must register with the Department of Labor.

Referred to the Committee on Education and Labor, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
