William and James Wonacott Act of 2023

This bill establishes specific criminal penalties for the sale or distribution of illicit fentanyl or a fentanyl-related substance to another person without that person's knowledge.

Specifically, the bill prohibits the sale or distribution of any substance that has two milligrams or more of illicit fentanyl or a fentanyl-related substance to another person without that person's knowledge. Violators are subject to a minimum of 20 years of imprisonment (25 years if the violation results in death) and a maximum of life imprisonment.
