Reducing Helicopter Noise in the District of Columbia Act

This bill requires helicopters and other rotorcraft in the District of Columbia to fly at the maximum altitude permitted by the Federal Aviation Administration unless an exception applies. The exceptions specified in the bill allow for lower altitude flights if necessary to

  • ensure aviation safety,
  • transport the President or Vice President,
  • protect patients in medical-related flights,
  • take off or land, or
  • engage in active law enforcement or rescue operations.
