State and Local Infrastructure Flexibility Act
This bill makes certain state transportation and infrastructure projects eligible for COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) recovery funds.
Specifically, the bill authorizes the use of such funds for projects for specified purposes, including to
- improve, repair, and develop roads, railways, tunnels, bridges, and electrical grids;
- fund revitalization initiatives to support economic and workforce development;
- improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the movement of freight and people;
- enhance the resiliency of critical highway infrastructure and help protect the environment; and
- fund the construction or improvement of buildings, land, and other facilities that are required to provide broadband service.
