Privacy Office Enhancement Act
This bill expands the responsibilities of the Chief Privacy Officer of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to include, among other things
- developing guidance to assist DHS components in developing privacy policies and practices;
- working with DHS's Chief Information Officer to identify methods for managing and overseeing DHS records, management policies, and procedures;
- working with DHS components and offices to ensure that information sharing activities incorporate privacy protections; and
- serving as the Chief FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) Officer of DHS to manage and process requests.
