Social Security Debt Recovery Act of 2017
This bill amends title II (Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance) (OASDI) of the Social Security Act to specify that the amount of any overpayment of OASDI benefits to an individual, and any obligation of the individual to repay such overpayment, shall be determined solely under the OASDI program. Therefore, such overpayment shall not otherwise be subject to garnishment or to the operation of any bankruptcy or insolvency law.
