The American Legion 100th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act

(Sec. 3) This bill requires the Department of the Treasury to mint and issue gold, silver, and half-dollar clad commemorative coins in recognition and celebration of the 100th anniversary of the American Legion.

(Sec. 5) Treasury may issue coins minted under this bill for only a one-year period, beginning January 1, 2019.

(Sec. 7) All sales of coins minted under this bill shall include a surcharge of $35 per gold coin, $10 per silver coin, and $5 per half-dollar clad coin. Surcharges received shall be paid to the American Legion for costs related to promoting the importance of: (1) caring for those who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces; and (2) maintaining patriotic values, strong families, and assistance for at-risk children.
