This bill amends the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), the Internal Revenue Code, and the Public Health Service Act to expand notification requirements for health plans regarding beneficiaries who would lose coverage if not for continuation coverage (e.g., due to job termination) to include providing notice of: (1) guaranteed availability of coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, including special enrollment periods; and (2) special enrollment periods for Medicare.What just happenedMay 19, 2017
