No Government No Pay Act of 2017

No Government No Pay Act of 2017

A Member of Congress may not receive pay, during a government shutdown, equal to the product of one day's worth of pay under such annual rate and the number of 24-hour periods during which the government shutdown is in effect. This prohibition is applicable to days occurring during the 116th and succeeding Congresses.

Referred to the Committee on House Administration, and in addition to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
