Requiring Individual Responsibility in Medicaid Act of 2017
This bill amends title XIX (Medicaid) of the Social Security Act to allow a state Medicaid program to impose a work requirement as a condition of eligibility.
A program may not apply such a requirement to: (1) a pregnant woman, (2) the sole parent or caretaker of either a child younger than age 6 or a child with disabilities, or (3) an individual younger than age 20 who is married or head of a household and either attends secondary school or participates in employment-related education.
