Disaster SAVE Act

Disaster Simplified Assistance Value Enhancement Act or the Disaster SAVE Act

(Sec. 2) This bill requires the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to establish the repair cost threshold for eligibility for major disaster assistance under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act's simplified procedures program at $500,000 until September 30, 2021.

FEMA must submit a report to specified congressional committees by May 1, 2021, containing the results of a comprehensive review of such program, including an assessment of cost-effectiveness, speed of recovery, capacity of the grantees, past performance and accountability measures.
