Enhancing United States Trustee Oversight Act of 2016
This bill authorizes U.S. trustees (who are appointed by the Attorney General to oversee certain bankruptcy cases and private trustees) to perform investigations, and to contract with auditors to perform audits, of trusts established as part of a reorganization plan confirmed under chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code, including a trust with respect to which an injunction is issued to carry out a discharge and enjoin entities from taking legal action to collect payment on a claim or demand to be paid by the trust.
