Interdictions Assistance Act
This bill authorizes the Department of Defense to provide assistance to foreign countries to interdict or seize shipments of items in contravention of U.N. Security Council Resolutions:
- 1701 (cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, deployment of U.N. and Lebanese forces, and the disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon); or
- 2231(endorsement of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action regarding the Iranian nuclear issue).
Such assistance may include: (1) assistance for logistical and military support by such country for such interdiction or seizure and for the storage, transfer, or destruction of seized or interdicted items; and (2) interdiction training.
