Military Opportunities for Mothers Act or the MOM Act - Requires military personnel who give birth to a child to be given 42 days of convalescent leave for use in connection with that birth.
Allows military personnel up to 42 additional days of leave in connection with the birth of such child upon the expiration of the convalescent leave, but:
- makes them ineligible for basic pay for any day on which such additional leave is used, although they are to be considered to be on active duty for all other purposes; and
- their commanding officer may recall them from such leave when necessary to maintain unit readiness.
