Federal Prisons Accountability Act of 2015
This bill amends the federal criminal code to require the Director of the Bureau of Prisons to be appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Currently, the Director is appointed by the Attorney General.
The bill permits continued service by the incumbent Director for three months after the date of enactment. The President may appoint that individual to be the Director of the Bureau of Prisons in accordance with the requirements of this Act.
