- Purpose
- Amendment as originally offered addresses the process of sending excess military equipment, which is not being used, to Border Security personnel to assist with securing U.S. borders. As modified, amendment provides border security preference for a few specific pieces of equipment which are particularly useful for border security applications, including unmanned surveillance vehicles, the Aerostat radar system, night vision goggles and humvees.
