- Purpose
- Providing that notwithstanding any other provision of law, Section 118 of the International Security and Development Cooperation Act of 1981, relating to Angola, shall cease to be in effect the earlier of (1) a date by which the President has determined that an effective cease- fire is in place in Namibia and that preparations for internationally supervised elections in Namibia are in progress, or (2) March 31, 1983; and that nothing in the section shall be construed to be an endorsement by Congress of the provision of assistance for the purpose, or which would have the effect, of promoting or augmenting, directly or indirectly, the capacity of any nation, group, organization, movement, or individual to conduct military or paramilitary operations in Angola.
