Amendment97th Congress
An amendment to require the Commission to approve or institute disapproval proceedings regarding any rule within 180 days of the rules receipt. A longer time may be granted if the Futures Associations agrees. The disapproval proceedings must conclude within one year of the rule unless the Futures Associations agrees to a longer time. If these time limitations are not met the rule is to go into effect and remain in effect until the Commission disapproves it.
