Amendment97th Congress
An amendment to set requirements for the study of foreign languages in the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Air Force. The Secretary of Defense is required to conduct a study on the feasibility of requiring all cadets and midshipmen to study one foreign language for two years. The study is to include consideration of the desirability and feasibility of paying a bonus to each member of the Armed Forces stationed in a foreign country who is proficient in the native language (other than English) of that country.
