An amendment to set funds for the Trident submarine program procurement at 1,481,000,000 dollars (It was 2,485,000,000 dollars in the bill as reported from committee.) and RDT&E funds for the Navy and Marine Corps at 5,659,508,000 dollars (6,026,208,000 dollars in the reported bill). The amendment prohibits transfers of other funds in the bill to the Trident program. Air Force RDT&E is set at 10,435,196,000 dollars (10,409,196,000 dollars in the reported bill) with 26,000,000 dollars designated for use only on the Axe missile program. The intent of the reduction in the Trident program is to delete funds for the Trident II program.
