Amendment97th Congress
An amendment to permit a legislative veto of EPA regulations. The amendment permits both Houses to disapprove a regulation or rule of the EPA by passing a joint resolution of disapproval. The EPA regulation cannot become effective if one house passes a resolution of disapproval and the other house does not take action on it. The other house may, however, vote on the resolution and not pass it, thus permitting the EPA regulation to become effective.
