An amendment to permit the Secretary of Agriculture to conduct a pilot project in which households that include one or more recipients of aid to families with dependent children, of supplemental security income, or medical assistance, and whose income does not exceed the applicable income standard shall be deemed to satisfy the application requirements for food stamps. Such a pilot project may be carried out in a state or part of a state that requests such a program. The Secretary of Agriculture with the Secretary of Health and Human Services are to devise ways to eliminate the paper processing involved in these programs. The amendment also specifies requirements regarding level of assistance.
