Amendment98th Congress
An amendment to substitute authorization of appropriations for INS enforcement and service activities. The amendment adds 80 million dollars for FY'84 to improve INS service and enforcement activities. It also sets INS funds for FY'85 at 700 million dollars and for FY'86 at 715 million dollars (the bill had 689,232,000 and 731,327,000 for those years.) The amendment also requires a plan to increase the border patrol and increase naturalization services, within service training. It also contains provisions for enhancement of community outreach within the INS and a report on the antismuggling program involving discussions with Canada and Mexico.
