An amendment to substitute new provisions for those in the bill dealing with unlawful transportation of illegal aliens to the U.S. The bill's tiered provisions are removed and a single sanction of a fine of not more than 10,000 dollars or imprisonment of not more than five years or both is substitute. The effect of the amendment is to preserve in current law the provision that mere employment of an illegal alien does not constitute harboring, which is illegal.
