The amendment sets a range of fines for the first civil penalty of from $100 and $1000 and for subsequent penalties from $500 to $2000. The bill simply sets the fine for the first penalty at $1000 and for subsequent ones at $2000. The penalties apply to hiring unauthorized aliens.
