Amendment98th Congress
An amendment to the Aspin amendment providing that the provisions of the Aspin amendment shall not apply after 9/30/85, or if the President submits a report to Congress setting forth findings that a) the Soviets have deployed a sea launch cruise missile comparable to the Tomahawk missile that had not been deployed 1/1/83, and b) it is technically impossible for the U.S. to verify effectively any limit on the numbers of such missiles deployed or how they are armed. It also provides that by 1/19/85, the President shall report to Congress describing an arms control method for determining whether a cruise missile is conventionally or nuclear armed.
