Amendment98th Congress
An amend to the Miller (CA) amendment to add that religious, charitable, and voluntary organizations are to be eligible for grant funds. Also, states are to give special emphasis to organizations that provide counseling, alcohol and drug abuse treatment, and self help service to abusers and victims in allocating grant funds. The amendment also provides that "related assistance" may be given under the title, where related assistance is defined as "food, clothing, child care, transportation, and emergency medical care for victims of family violence and their dependents, counseling, alcohol and drug abuse treatment and self-help services to abusers, victims, and dependents in family violence situations".
