Amendment98th Congress
An amendment to add to the provision permitting the Agriculture Secretary to change a contract under the milk diversion program if he determines 1) it causes excessive reduction in U.S. milk production, 2) there is a reduction of 10 percent in the price of cattle for slaughter in a ten consecutive market day period, 3) there has been other substantial hardship on producers of beef and dairy cattle, hogs, or poultry sold for slaughter, 4) on the basis of prior examination of plans for diversion that it would depress prices for beef or dairy cattle, hogs, or poultry for slaughter because of slaughtering too many dairy cattle.
