Amendment98th Congress
An amendment revising the section on enforcement authority to provide that an officer of the U.S. Customs Service or other authorized person, rather than providing an officer or employee of the Department of Commerce, may be designated to stop, search and examine when there is reasonable cause for suspicion. Upon seizure of any goods or technology, the matter shall be referred to the Department of Commerce for further investigation and appropriate action.
