An amendment to change the requirement on reports to the Congress from every 6 months, to every 60 days; also to require reports on contributions of each participating country to the achievement of the objectives of the multinational force in Lebanon; require report on the progress during the reporting period in the training of the Lebanese armed forces; report on the level of fighting that has occurred and whether a ceasefire is in effect; a report on estimated additional cost to the U.S.; on the number of U.S. military casualties in the period; and progress in negotiations. The amendment also adds a provision in the statement of policy that "the Congress is opposed to any partition of Lebanon and the annexation of its territory by any foreign country".
