An amendment to change the statute under law enforcement assistance funds are spent from the Justice System Improvement Act of 1979 to the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968.The amendment also provides, contingent upon passage of H.R. 2175 or S. 53, $162,000,000 that the Attorney General may use in employing federal law enforcement assistance to states to address crime problems of serious and epidemic proportions.
