Amendment98th Congress
An amendment to strike from the bill all mention of the Examination Council; thus making its functions in regulating and auditing fall on appropriate Federal banking agencies. The amendment also strikes language in the bill pertaining to Capital Adequacy and inserts new language that permits the appropriate federal banking agency to require minimum levels of capital for institutions under their responsibility. The amendment provides means of enforcing the minimum capital level requirement. The amendment also sets out report requirements (to Congress from the Treasury) on regulatory practices on international banking in each of the Group of Ten Nations and Switzerland.
