Amendment98th Congress
An amendment expressing the sense of Congress that the U.S. should seek a new division of labor with its allies whereby they provide for their own territorial defense needs while the U.S. meets strategic and common defense needs. The amendment calls for a reversal of the recent trend of increasing the number of active duty U.S. military personnel stationed in locations outside the U.S. The amendment prohibits levels of active duty personnel stationed outside the U.S. at levels above those of 9/30/80. The limitation will exclude any Members of the Armed Forces stationed in compliance with the War Powers Resolution.
