Amendment98th Congress
An amendment to permit the Secretary of the Army to make a loan to the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District of San Antonio, Texas, not to exceed $784,000 to assist the district in meeting current expenditures. Also, the Secretary of the Air Force may make loans to the Lackland Independent School District and the Randolph Independent School District to assist them in meeting their current expenditures. The combined loans made by the Secretary of the Air Force may not exceed $657,000. Loan funds are to come from Army and Air Force operation and maintenance funds, respectively, provided in the bill. The Secretaries involved may set the interest rates on the loans. The loans are to be forgiven the school districts if funds equal to them are not provided from other specified sources.
