Amendment98th Congress
An amendment to prohibit the Secretary under certain provisions of the National Housing Act from denying insurance to eligible mortgages on the basis of their involving two or three family dwellings or on the basis of their being used to finance substantial rehabilitation rather than new construction. The amendment also requires that those who receive such insured mortgages may not discriminate against prospective tenants on the basis of their receipt of federal or state housing assistance. Also the rental units may not be rented to persons whose income exceeds by 100 percent the area median income.
