An amendment to strike the section of the bill which provides $110 million for 12 specified mass transit projects and substitute $171 million for mass transit under the Urban Discretionary Grant Program, which pays for costs of major transit capital projects that exceed available formula funds. It also disapproves the deferral of $229 million for mass transit that will be generated under the gasoline tax and allocated under the capital block grant formula which distributes money on the basis of population and mass transit use.
