An amendment to strike title II and replace it with 0.53 percentage point increase in the payroll tax rate paid by both employers and employees, effective in the year 2010. The amendment increases the employer-employees Social Security tax rate from 7.65 percent in the year 2009 to 8.18 percent in the year 2010. This tax increase would replace 0.24 percentage point increase effective in the year 2015 as provided in the bill.
