Amendment99th Congress
An amendment to permit the Secretary of Agriculture to prescribe terms and conditions under which cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules, and other equines that may have been administered an animal drug or antibiotic not approved for use in the U.S. may be imported for slaughter and human consumption. The Secretary may forbid importation of such animal if the country of origin permits the use of such drugs even if it cannot be determined that the animals have such substances in them. It also forbids importation of animals so restricted.
