Amendment99th Congress
An amendment providing that Amtrak or the owner of any facility that presents a danger to the employees passengers, or property of Amtrak may petition the Secretary for assistance to relocate or remedy the situation. The Secretary, upon finding there is a problem and that the owner should not bear the cost of the relocation or remedial measures is required to recommend to Congress that reimbursement be made. The reimbursement request is to be part of the periodic reauthorization process.
