An amendment permitting any state to prepare and submit to the Administrator a survey of surface waters in the state where its water quality has deteriorated as a result of high acidity that may reasonably be due to acid deposition or acid mine drainage with corrective procedures. It authorizes $25 million for each of the fiscal years of the bill for the program. The amendment provides that grants may be provided the states to carry out the corrective procedures if approved by the Administrator.
