Amendment99th Congress
An amendment changing provisions of the form of scholarships given to foreign students studying in the U.S.. The amendment increases from 50 percent to 100 percent the amount of the scholarship that is in the form of a loan that is forgiven upon return of the recipient to his country of orgin for a period of at least one year longer than the period of study in the U.S.. Students granted political asylum in the U.S. have 50 percent of their loans forgiven.
