An amendment prohibiting production of the 155 millimeter artillery fired atomic projectile. It also limits to numbers in a plan submitted to Congress on 2/4/85 the number of 8 inch artillery fired atomic projectiles (W-79) that may be produced. The W-79 units produced after enactment of this bill may not be produced in the enhanced radiation version, nor may any activity relating to research, development, testing, evaluation, or production of a unit to be inserted into them. It requires that W-79 production especially consider safety. It also requires that replacement of obsolete artillery fired atomic projectiles now in Europe be carried out under NATO agreements made at Montebello, Canada, 10/83.
