Amendment99th Congress
An amendment permitting the Secretary of Defense to assign members of the armed forces to assist drug enforcement officials in drug searches seizures, or arrests outside the land area of the U.S. if requested by drug enforcement officials. Assignment may by made only if it will not adversely affect military preparedness, the Attorney General verifies that the drug enforcement operation may not succeed without such assistance, and federal drug enforcement officials maintain ultimate control over the activities and any drug enforcement operation.
