An amendment to Title V, Defense Personnel Policy, authorizing award of Prisoner of War Medal. The medal may be given to persons serving in any capacity of the armed services who were taken prisoner after 4/6/17 if they were 1) engaged in action against a U.S. enemy, 2) engaged in military opertions involving an opposing foreign force, or 3) serving with friendly forces engaged in armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the U.S. is not a belligerent party. Only one medal may be given to a person and it may be given posthumously. The amendment sets the medal's rank among other medals.
