An amendment, as modified, authorizing the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services to make grants to public and private nonprofit entities to develop model programs providing for the clinical care of individuals infected with AIDS. Such programs would include clinical laboratory monitoring of patients; clinical intervention; information and counseling on the availability of treatments for infection not yet approved; support groups; and information and referral to appropriate social support services.
