An amendment to appropriate a total of $30.8 Million for assistance to the Contras in Nicaragua. The aid would be broken down as follows: $14.6 million in sustenance aid to the Contras, $14.6 million for treatment of children who have been injured in the conflict in Nicaragua, and $1.4 million for aid to the Miskito and other Nicaraguan Indian groups. Delivery of the aid will be transferred to the Defense Department. Additional aid will be considered only under the following conditions: (1) no cease-fire is in effect by June 1,1988 or (2) no cease-fire is in effect because the Sandinistas have not negotiated in good faith and the Contras have.
